CAMPBELTOWN MALTS FESTIVAL 2024
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS AND BOOKING INFORMATION
We are pleased to announce the Springbank, Kilkerran & Cadenhead’s events which will take place during the Campbeltown Malts Festival 2024. Events will run from Monday 20th – Saturday 25th May.
Traditionally, Thursday is dedicated to Springbank, Hazelburn and Longrow with Friday being a combined celebration of Kilkerran and Cadenhead’s. As 2024 is the 20th anniversary of Kilkerran Single Malt, the main focus for Friday will be on Kilkerran. This year, Cadenhead’s will feature throughout the week with tastings each day instead of only on Friday.
Below, you will find all the relevant information regarding our events and tastings across the festival as well as information on how to purchase tickets.
HOW TO PURCHASE TICKETS
Tickets for our events during the festival will be available via the Eventbrite ticketing website. Dates for purchasing tickets will be as follows:
There will be a maximum of 2 tickets available per person for each event. Please note that tickets do tend to sell out quickly so we strongly recommend that you register with Eventbrite ahead of the ticket launch to make the process quicker on the day of the ticket sales.
PLEASE NOTE IN ADVANCE THERE IS A STRICT NO REFUND POLICY FOR FESTIVAL TICKETS.
IN AN EFFORT TO MINIMISE OUR PAPER WASTE, QR CODES MUST BE SHOWN TO GAIN ENTRY INTO EACH TASTING EVENT. WE ALSO HOPE THIS WILL HELP SPEED UP THE ENTRY PROCESS. PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE YOUR QR READY AHEAD OF EACH TASTING.
Monday 20th May 2024
1:30pm: Cadenhead’s Warehouse Tasting – Festival Edition 1 – £50.00
To kick off our week of festival events, we will be hosting our first festival edition Cadenhead’s Warehouse Tasting. This tasting will be repeated every day from Monday to Saturday, times varying.
Enjoy six exceptional whiskies within one of our atmospheric warehouses. These whiskies have been specially selected for the 2024 Malts Festival. Three of these whiskies will be available to purchase at the end, exclusively to those attending the tasting.
Tickets will be available to book on Eventbrite from Wednesday 14th February at 2pm (GMT).
Evening
Final details are still to be confirmed but we will be hosting an exciting charity tasting on Monday evening featuring whiskies distilled in the 1960s and 1970s. This will be an extremely rare chance to taste such exclusive bottles and we look forward to sharing more information with you soon.
Tuesday 21st May 2024
1:30pm: Cadenhead’s Warehouse Tasting – Festival Edition 2 – £50.00
A second chance to enjoy six exceptional whiskies within one of our atmospheric warehouses. These whiskies have been specially selected for the 2024 Malts Festival. Three of these whiskies will be available to purchase at the end, exclusively to those attending the tasting.
Tickets will be available to book on Eventbrite from Wednesday 14th February at 2pm (GMT).
Wednesday 22nd May 2024
1:30pm: Cadenhead’s Warehouse Tasting – Festival Edition 3 – £50.00
A further chance to enjoy six exceptional whiskies within one of our atmospheric warehouses. These whiskies have been specially selected for the 2024 Malts Festival. Three of these whiskies will be available to purchase at the end, exclusively to those attending the tasting.
Tickets will be available to book on Eventbrite from Wednesday 14th February at 2pm (GMT).
6:30pm: The Malt Barns Dinner
Our annual distillery dinner will take place on Wednesday 22nd May at 6:30pm, with members of staff from Springbank, Kilkerran and Cadenhead’s present throughout to share chat and drams with.
On arrival at the Malt Barns, you will be greeted with a champagne reception accompanied by a range of locally sourced canapés. Following this, a member of our production team will hand draw a selection of whiskies from the cask. All guests will then vote for their favourite and the most popular choice will be bottled for you to take home on the night.
You will then enjoy a four course meal with a specially selected wine to accompany each course.
There will be a set menu so please advise us of any dietary requirements you have once you have booked. Please also advise if you have any other specific requirements. This can be done by emailing [email protected].
The cost of our Malt Barns Dinner is £300.00 per person, including the 70cl bottled on the night. Tickets will be available to book on Eventbrite from Wednesday 7th February at 2pm (GMT). Please note this is one week earlier than all other tickets.
Thursday 23rd May 2024 – SPRINGBANK OPEN DAY
The Springbank Open Day will commence at 10am when the sale of our special Open Day bottles will begin. In addition to the tastings listed below, there will be a range of other attractions including free distillery tours, local craft and food stalls, bars, exclusive bottlings and much more. Events at Springbank will conclude at 6:30pm.
The tastings taking place during the Springbank Open Day (excluding events that are only bookable on the day) will be available to book from Wednesday 14th February at 2pm (GMT). Details of each can be found below:
11:30am: The Springbank ‘Great Debate’ Tasting – £40.00
Which cask type will reign supreme in this comparative tasting: Bourbon or Sherry? Join us for a chance to sample, compare and debate alternative Bourbon and Sherry Springbank impressions side by side.
11:30am: The Art (and Science) of Mashing – £40.00
Do you know your ⍺-amylase from your β-amylase, or your maltose from your maltotriose? Fear not, Production Director Findlay Ross and Production Coordinator Lea Watson are here to guide you through the exciting world of sugars, starch, and enzymes alongside a few handpicked drams as they delve into the art (and science) of mashing.
12:45pm: Springbank Warehouse Tasting 1 – £40.00
Join us in one of our warehouses for the chance to sample directly from a range of casks selected especially for our Open Day, whilst being guided through the whiskies by a member of our production team.
12:45pm: Malting Demonstration – Free
(ONLY BOOKABLE ON THE DAY)
Watch a member of our production team demonstrate our traditional malting process. This free event serves as an excellent opportunity to learn about Springbank production and maybe even try turning the barley yourself! Tickets are only available to book on the day so make sure you head straight for the ticket point to book and collect your tickets.
1:30pm: Cadenhead’s Archive Tasting – £200.00
Whilst tidying the office sample cupboard, the Cadenhead’s team stumbled across some of our oldest and revered bottlings from the past. Experience an incredible lineup of 6 rare whiskies which combine to over 200 years in age.
1:30pm: Springbank Tasting – £40.00
(TICKETS BOOKABLE ONLINE AND ON THE DAY)
Join a member of the Springbank sales team as you are guided through an eclectic range of whiskies from the distillery. A portion of the tickets for this tasting will be made available on the day of the festival if you are unable to obtain tickets online.
2:30pm: Springbank Cage Bottles Tasting – £40.00
We have raided the famous Distillery Shop cage for this tasting, which gives you a chance to try unique cask samples available for a limited time only and for sale exclusively here at the distillery.
2:45pm: Springbank Warehouse Tasting 2 – £40.00
Join us in one of our warehouses for the chance to sample directly from a range of casks selected especially for our Open Day, whilst being guided through the whiskies by a member of our production team.
2:45pm: Malting Demonstration – Free
(ONLY BOOKABLE ON THE DAY)

These whiskies have been specially selected for the 2024 Malts Festival. Three of these whiskies will be available to purchase at the end, exclusively to those attending the tasting.
4:15pm: Springbank; New & Forthcoming Releases – £40.00
A firm favourite at the Springbank Open Day, the New & Forthcoming tasting provides a chance to enjoy recent limited releases and sample exciting upcoming offerings from the distillery.
4:45pm: Springbank Warehouse Tasting 3 – £40.00
Join us in one of our warehouses for the chance to sample directly from a range of casks selected especially for our Open Day, whilst being guided through the whiskies by a member of our production team.
Friday 24th May 2024 – KILKERRAN OPEN DAY
To celebrate 20 years of Kilkerran Single Malt, the majority of our Friday events will be dedicated to Kilkerran. Events will begin at Glengyle Distillery from 10am when the sale of our special Kilkerran Open Day bottle will commence. The day will feature a range of tastings which are listed below as well as free distillery tours, local craft and food stalls, the ever popular Cadenhead’s Lucky Dip Bar and much more. Events will conclude at 6:30pm.

11am: Kilkerran Warehouse Tasting 1 – £40.00
Making a comeback to the Glengyle Open Day this year is our Kilkerran Warehouse Tasting, where you can sample an exclusive selection of whiskies from Glengyle, hand-drawn from the cask by a member of the team.
11:15am: The Big Cadenhead’s Tasting – £45.00
Join the Cadenhead’s Sales Team for the chance to experience some of their favourite drams, drawn from casks currently maturing in our warehouses. This tasting will demonstrate the variety of distilleries, ages and cask types that Cadenhead’s has onsite in Campbeltown. In addition to these samples, there will also be the opportunity to sample two exclusive casks bottled by Cadenhead’s for the 2024 Campbeltown Malts Festival.
11:30am: Kilkerran Open Day Bottles Tasting – £40.00
Join us to reminisce on previous Malts Festivals with this selection of Kilkerran Open Day bottles over the years. With a range of cask types, strengths and distillations, this is a chance to enjoy Kilkerran in its many forms.
12:30pm: Kilkerran Warehouse Tasting 2 – £40.00
Making a comeback to the Glengyle Open Day this year is our Kilkerran Warehouse Tasting, where you can sample an exclusive selection of whiskies from Glengyle, hand-drawn from the cask by a member of the team.
1:45pm: Kilkerran: The Journey Towards our 20th Year – £40.00
Celebrate Kilkerran’s 20th anniversary by sampling our whiskies through the years. From early offerings like the Work in Progress, through to a sample from our oldest cask, we invite you to reflect with us on the Kilkerran journey so far.
2:30pm: Kilkerran Warehouse Tasting 3 – £40.00

3pm: Cadenhead’s Warehouse Tasting – Festival Edition 5 – £50.00
Another opportunity to take part in our exclusive festival edition Cadenhead’s Warehouse Tasting. Enjoy six exceptional whiskies within one of our atmospheric warehouses. These whiskies have been specially selected for the 2024 Malts Festival. Three of these whiskies will be available to purchase at the end, exclusively to those attending the tasting.
4:15pm: Kilkerran Warehouse Tasting 4 – £40.00
Making a comeback to the Glengyle Open Day this year is our Kilkerran Warehouse Tasting, where you can sample an exclusive selection of whiskies from Glengyle, hand-drawn from the cask by a member of the team.
4:15pm: Kilkerran Cocktail Masterclass – £40.00
Our cocktail masterclass offers something different as you are guided by a member of our bar team to create your own Kilkerran cocktails, whilst hearing more about the whiskies on offer from Glengyle Distillery.
Saturday 25th May 2024
1:30pm: Cadenhead’s Warehouse Tasting – Festival Edition 6
Our final event of the festival and the last chance to enjoy our exclusive festival edition Cadenhead’s Warehouse Tasting, sampling six exceptional whiskies within one of our atmospheric warehouses. These whiskies have been specially selected for the 2024 Malts Festival. Three of these whiskies will be available to purchase at the end, exclusively to those attending the tasting.
Tickets will be available to book on Eventbrite from Wednesday 14th February at 2pm (GMT).
ADDITIONAL EVENT INFORMATION:
- All tastings during the week are scheduled for 1 hour, with the exception of Springbank Warehouse Tastings on Thursday which will last for 45 minutes and Malting Demonstrations on Thursday which will last for 30 minutes.
- Some of the tastings will overlap each day so please be aware of this when making your selections.
- Tasting locations will be shared when bookings commence.
- Tickets for tastings that are only bookable on Thursday are not available on Eventbrite and must be purchased from our ticket point at Springbank Distillery on the morning of the Open Day.
- You must present your QR code to gain entry into each tasting.
